A Romantic Cathedral Stay

convenient location friendly staff punctual breakfast unique character
The location was REALLY convenient for attending an event at the nearby cathedral. The staff were genuinely friendly, always ready with a smile and helpful advice! Breakfast was punctual, a good start to the day before exploring local culture. Our room, a little quirky with its box bed, added a UNIQUE character to the stay.
I noticed five light bulbs were either missing or not working in our room's lights. This detracted SLIGHTLY from the overall ambiance.
Rooms
9/10
Our room included a good size bath which i REALLY enjoyed. The refitted bathroom had modern fixtures . A box bed added character to the room which I ADMIRED.
Dining

A punctual breakfast was offered at 8 am, it was VERY convenient. I appreciated the attention to timing, especially when we were tight on schedule. The cooked breakfast had good value for the additional cost.
Facilities

Historic Charm with Helpful Staff!

helpful staff central location good basket
The staff were helpful. I really appreciated their assistance. The location is very central. It's right in town, super convenient. I found the breakfast basket good. It had a nice selection of items.
Parking was a bit difficult because the hotel does not have private parking. I had to use the nearby NCP, and its entrance was a 7-minute drive away. This was longer during rush hour, a bit of a hassle

Solid Stay in a Central Location

ample space historical features quick service solid selection
My room had ample space. I liked the historical features preserved throughout the building. The staff was very accommodating and provided quick service. The bar on site offered a solid selection of drinks in a pleasant setting.
Breakfast options felt somewhat limited for the price.
Dining
8/10
The complimentary continental breakfast was delivered to the room in a basket. Guests can choose to upgrade and eat in the bar with a cooked breakfast, but the continental option was sufficient. The pub is located in the Shambles.
Service
9/10
Staff members were friendly and helpful. I found them to be polite and readily available. Assistance with luggage was not offered upon departure. The evening bar staff seemed less experienced.
Location
9/10
The location is central. Many shops are nearby. This makes it easy to explore local attractions. The hotel's placement within the city allows for convenient access to other areas, though the area can get busy.
Facilities
8/10
Bedrooms have been recently refurbished to a high standard. I found the bed comfortable and the room clean. Rooms had limited lighting, potentially making stairs dangerous, though not for me.

This building is full of history. The staff were really friendly and helpful! I enjoyed cask ales in the rear beer garden. It had great lighting and heating for a comfortable experience with my dog.
